Hey kids,

Someone needs to start some reports here so it might as well be me.

Last Saturday the MOA had an open house and board meeting at the MOA Headquarters in Greer. Michael Hack was kind enough to create a route

there and 7 of us decided to ride along. M. Hack, Marc Miller, Terry Carr, Perry Linn, Rolf Dolder, Barry D. and yours truly all met in Irmo and proceeded to blast

up a bunch of roads and actually wound up in Greer! Truthfully, I didn’t have a clue where we were most of the ride. I did watch for the county

signs so I could narrow our locations down a little. It still amazes me that we can be cruising down a road with nary a person or creature in sight,

round a corner and see an architectural wonder complete with a landscaped pasture and pond. How do these folks survive out there?

Oh well, I digress. As usual. We eventually arrived at the MOA palace, which strangely enough is architectually interesting and has a landscaped

pasture and pond. Go figure. Maybe about 40-50 bikes were already there and everyone got to kibbutz for a while before lunch. Our club was

well represented, especially since we were the only club there with a banner! After lunch, Ted Moyer got the festivities under way but giving away

lots of swag. He introduced all the officers and board members in attendance and gave some insight into the MOA history and plans for the future.

There was a relaxed board meeting after that, but I still had quite a few hours to ride home, so I left. I’ll have to remember to ask Jerry Barron

what happened after I left. I will attempt to remember who was there from our club. Greg and Tuula, Jim Blalock, Keith Paxton, Frank Gramling,

Ron Bitely, Jerry Barron, the aforementioned riders (aka the Mild Bunch). I know I am forgetting some folks but it’s after 9pm and I’m old.

I’ll close by saying it was a great time meeting all the head folks and volunteers that make the MOA work. I hope we have another one in the fall.

And to all you who are currently at Hiawassee, well, I’m jealous……..

Here are some pics:
